Biography
1969 - Graduated with honours from Tomsk Polytechnic Institute (TPI).
1972-1975 - Postgraduate studies at TPI.
1975 - Candidate of Geological and Mineralogical Sciences (PhD).
1981 - Associate Professor.
1981 - 1995 - Head of the Department of Mineral Resources and Geochemistry of Rare Elements.
1999 - Doctor of Geological and Mineralogical Sciences.
2001 - Professor of the Department of Geoecology and Geochemistry of Tomsk Polytechnic University (TPU).
Research Interests
- Geochemistry of radioactive and rare earth elements in the environment;
- Biogeochemistry;
- Radioecology.
Research Achievements
Leonid Rikhvanov is a founder of the Siberian Radiogeochemical school, formed several scientific directions in TPU:
- Geochemistry of living substance;
- Comprehensive study of coal and other types of deposits on toxic elements accumulation;
- Eco-geochemical monitoring.
Professor Rikhvanov is a scientific advisor of 27 Doctors of Philosophy (PhD) and 4 Doctors of Sciences dissertations.
Publications
Leonid Rikhvanov is an author of more than 70 articles including 20 published in English, 18 monographs, 10 patents.
