Aleksei K. Mazurov (DOB 02.01.1951, Osinovka, Kozhevnikovsky District, Tomsk Region) – Doctor in Geological and Mineralogical Sciences, Professor, First Vice-Rector of Tomsk Polytechnic University.

Education

2003 - Doctor of Geological and Mineralogical Sciences (Doctoral thesis "Geodynamic conditions of formation of metallogenic systems of Kazakhstan");

1988 - Candidate of Geological and Minerological Sciences (PhD) (Thesis "Geology, material composition of ore deposits and weathering crust Koktenkol");

1974 - Graduated from the Department of Geology and Geochemistry of Rare Ores and Radioactive Elements of TPI (TPU) as mining engineer and geologist.

Employment History

Since 2014 - First Vice-Rector of Tomsk Polytechnic University;

2011 - Vice-Rector for Finance of Tomsk Polytechnic University;

2009 - Director of the Institute of Natural Resources of Tomsk Polytechnic University;

2007 - First Vice-Rector of Tomsk Polytechnic University;

2005 - Head of the Department of Geology and Mineral Exploration of Tomsk Polytechnic University;

1998 - Committee of Geology and Subsoil Protection to the Ministry of Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan (later the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources), where he rised through the ranks to Deputy Chairman of the The Committee of Geology and Subsoil Protection;

Research

Aleksei K.Mazurov was one of those who initiated evaluation of the greatest iron-ore deposit located on the territory of Tomsk Region, which allowed an eastern part of Bakchar prospective area to become a first-priority evaluation object.

A.K. Mazurov is a corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences and the Academy of Mineral Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Author of 75 scientific publications, including 11 books and 18 scientific and research-and-production reports.
